The Center for Spiritual Living Carson City is a deeply spiritual and loving community. We embrace the philosophy and lifestyle of Science of Mind, created by Dr. Ernest Holmes in 1927. A blend of all religions, spiritual psychology, philosophy and science, we don’t tell you what to think but we will teach you how to think so that you can create an expanded life! We do so with classes, workshops, retreats, and our Monday Night Musings. Join us for any or all of these life expanding events!
The Center began life as United Church of Religious Science in the late 1970s, and embraced the world wide name change to Center for Spiritual Living in 2006.
After several years without a spiritual leader, Rev. Karen Linsley answered the call in late 2014 to become Senior Minister and Spiritual Leader. She defines spirituality as feeling and embodying the presence of God, 24/7. This leads to an insistence on enjoying life, no matter what. Her primary influences are Ernest Holmes, Bill Wilson, Dr. Bob Smith, Julia Cameron, Edward Viljoen, Thich Nhat Hanh, Edwene Gaines, Neale Donald Walsch. And many many more.
Rev. Karen became a Practitioner in 2008 and graduated from Holmes Institute in 2014. She earned her ordination in 2018. She lives in Minden with her husband Floyd, dog Zeke and cat Yang. Her horse Sonny Q lives just down the road. She has 30 years of experience in her prior day job of owning and operating a photography studio, and still does a few weddings and portraits, as well as private photography tutoring.
